Winter Survival Simulator is a survival game developed by the Polish studio Drago Entertainment and published by Movie Games. The plot of the game

Winter Survival Simulator takes us on a journey to the American national park Mount Washington. The main character of the game went there on a winter trip with a group of friends. Unexpectedly, the trip turns into a dramatic struggle for survival when the protagonist is attacked by a bear and falls from a great height. He manages to get out of the predicament in one piece, but on the way he loses his rucksack, which is invaluable in these conditions. With little equipment and supplies, he must do everything in his power to survive and reach the abandoned park ranger’s outpost in time to call for help.

Game mechanics

Winter Survival Simulator is played from a first-person perspective (FPP). During gameplay, we traverse the ice- and snow-covered land, and our primary goal is to take care of the protagonist’s basic needs. The lack of water can be dealt with by melting snow or filling a menagerie in lakes or rivers, but getting food is a much more serious problem. An ad hoc solution is to eat fruit, although in the long run the key to success is to learn to hunt. It is worth looking around for traps left by hunters, and with a bit of luck you might catch a small animal. Such prey can then be roasted on a campfire; of course, to make a fire, we must first find dry firewood.

To make matters worse, it is winter all around. Not only are sub-zero temperatures a deadly threat, but the weather in the mountains can change in an instant. In order to avoid frostbite, it is necessary to warm up the protagonist from time to time. Equally dangerous are the wild animals that roam the area. As the protagonist does not have a weapon, it is better to avoid direct encounters with wolves or bears, and if you are spotted by one of these beasts, it is better to flee.

Beware of the night

All of this means that spending the night outdoors is not the best idea here. While there’s nothing to stop you from building makeshift shelters, it’s often more effective to use one of the abandoned hunting huts, where you’ll find useful equipment and which, once repaired, can serve as a solid base.

At the same time, the protagonist’s traumatic experiences do not go unnoticed. If we do not take care of the protagonist’s mental health, over time he will begin to have frightening hallucinations. Winter Survival download for free for PC.

Technical issues

Winter Survival Simulator has a graphic design of decent quality. The detailed environments and the realistic lighting system are particularly pleasing.
