The plot of the game

Cab Life: A City Driving Simulator takes us on a journey to modern Barcelona, the second largest city in Spain. During the game we play the role of a driver who arrives here dreaming of a great career (and, of course, making a fortune).

Game mechanics

In Taxi Life: A City Driving Simulator we can watch the action from the first (FPP) or third (TPP) person perspective. The production provides us with the entire city of Barcelona at a scale of one to one, with its numerous monuments, famous buildings, sculptures and parks. We travel around the city behind the wheel of a car, imagining ourselves as taxi drivers or delivery men, for example. We are often pressed for time when carrying out our missions, so the key to success is to get to know Barcelona and its nooks and crannies so that we can avoid traffic jams or other obstacles (such as accidents or roadworks).

The game uses advanced AI to take into account the different behaviour of other road users and pedestrians, depending on the time of day or the weather. We also need to be aware of the latter, as slippery surfaces increase braking distances, while on hot days we need to use the air conditioning to keep our passengers as comfortable as possible. When driving, we also need to follow the rules and keep our eyes on the road. This is all the more important as running a red light can result in a fine and failing to give way to another driver can result in a bump.

Be a good boss

The game gives us several types of cars, the appearance of which we can customise to our liking. You will also need to take care of your cars by carrying out regular maintenance and repairs. Not forgetting refuelling, of course. If we do all this well, over time the number of zeros on our bank account will start to grow. Then we have no choice but to hire more drivers and expand our fleet. In this way, as we progress, our company spreads its wings and becomes a real car empire. Cab life: A City Driving Simulator boasts high quality graphics. The city has been designed with great attention to detail, as have the cars driving on its streets (although the latter are not licensed).
