Men of War II is the second installment of the World War II RTS series launched in 2007. The title was developed by Best Way studio (which has in its portfolio, among others, genre-related Soldiers: Men of Honor and additions to the first part of the series), and its release was handled by 1C Entertainment, which takes care of the brand. Man of War 2 game plot

The action of Men of War II takes place in the realities of the Second World War. The production offers two extensive story campaigns. In the first one we take command of the Allies and fight on the Western Front, while in the second one we can take command of the Red Army and challenge the Third Reich on the Eastern Front.

Man of War 2 gameplay

In Men of War II we see the war from a bird’s eye view. During gameplay, we give orders to infantry, vehicles and air forces. A total of 45 battalions and more than 300 different machines are implemented in the game. Each unit has a unique specialization and an individual set of strengths and weaknesses, the skillful use of which is the key to success.

The skirmishes in which we participate take place in a variety of landscapes. The battlefields here range from snowy Russian hills to European villages or ruined cities. In order to be successful, we must approach each battle individually and develop our own tactics for it. The latter should take into account not only the number and capabilities of our subordinates, but also the terrain and buildings (as well as the presence of bridges, rivers, or at least and forests, which enable the preparation of ambushes). At the same time, it should be remembered that any building here can be razed to the ground. It is true that in this way we can deprive the enemy of cover, but our sub-commanders can also be covered by a pile of rubble at any time.

Intelligent soldiers

In comparison with the first part of the series, the game features a much more advanced AI. In addition, the game implements the so-called front line, which divides the battlefield into two parts. Its course is determined by the actions of the infantry, and it is so important that some operations can be performed only on our side. Besides, thanks to Direct Vision, the title allows us to take direct control of a selected unit and watch the action in TPP or FPP view. In the skin of a given soldier, we can carry out the shooting ourselves or even drive a tank on the battlefield and control it ourselves.
