Prison Architect 2 is the second installment of the series of prison economic strategies launched in 2015 under the wings of Paradox Interactive. Unlike the first installment of the series, which was the work of the Introversion Software team, the described title has different developers. Production was initially handled by Double Eleven studio, which gained experience by creating add-ons such as Psych Ward, Island Bound and Going Green for the first Prison Architect. In May 2024, however, it was announced that the project would be completed by the Brazilian team Kokku, which has so far mainly been involved as a subcontractor for various publishers with their games (including AAA).
Gameplay
In Prison Architect 2, we once again take on the role of a prison administrator. The core of the gameplay is the system developed for the first part of the series. So we start the game with a small facility and our head in it to make it grow and gradually become a model for other prisons.
On our shoulders are, among other things, issues related to setting the rules that govern life behind bars and creating schedules for the inmates. In addition, we are free to expand our prison by creating new rooms or buildings and deciding on their purpose, appearance, and equipment. Since our options are limited by the size of our wallets, we must consider economic issues when making decisions – and more.
Manage the rehabilitation of prisoners
Prisoners in Prison Architect 2 have more advanced artificial intelligence – they have their own goals, desires and needs, and can form relationships with other inmates. If they are completely forgotten and the prison becomes a place to serve a sentence rather than a rehabilitation facility, things will quickly get out of hand.
Disgruntled inmates may attempt to escape and, in extreme cases, cause riots, and dealing with the negative consequences of such events can be downright deadly to our finances.
Game Modes
The cornerstone of Prison Architect 2’s gameplay is the single-player career mode. In it, we make our way from the warden of a small prison to a rich man who owns many such facilities and for whom prisons have become a lucrative business. Prison Architect 2 download free for PC.
Graphics
The biggest novelty introduced in Prison Architect 2 is the three-dimensional graphics. The whole game – with the character models in the foreground – is kept in a slightly cartoonish, caricatured style.
