Borderlands 4 offers a whole new adventure!
Kairos is a brand new planet in the Borderlands universe that has been designed to be more challenging and unpredictable than the well-known Pandora. The developers describe it as the most dangerous place in the galaxy to emphasise both the level of challenge and the diversity of enemies.
The planet is also much more diverse than Pandora. We will see ruined cities that hide the secrets of long-forgotten civilisations and vast wastelands in Borderlands 4. Kairos is also supposed to be more interactive: we will discover hidden paths and elements of the environment that can be used in combat, as well as mysterious objects related to the planet’s history. Uncovering these secrets will be one of the main storylines, encouraging players to explore every corner.
The plot is said to be linked to the ending of the previous instalment, in which Lilith, the leader of the Crimson Raiders and a powerful Siren, sacrifices herself to save Pandora from destruction. After defeating Tyreen Calypso, Lilith regains her powers and uses them to stop the moon Elpis from colliding with Pandora. The moon is moved into orbit around Kairos, causing chaos that threatens the rule of the local dictator, the Timekeeper. He will be the new antagonist that the heroes will face.
Heroes in Borderlands 4
In Borderlands 4, players will have the opportunity to play as four brand new Vault Hunters. The developers promise that each of these characters will have the largest and most diverse skill trees in the series’ history, allowing for greater customisation and adaptation of gameplay to individual preferences.
While specific details about the new heroes have yet to be revealed, it is likely that each character will possess a unique set of abilities and fighting style, in keeping with the series’ tradition. Previous instalments of the game featured Vault Hunters representing different professions, such as soldier, siren or assassin, offering a variety of approaches to gameplay.
Brand new mechanics and weapons
In Borderlands 4, the developers promise even greater weapon diversity by introducing billions of randomly generated weapons. Each weapon has unique features and capabilities, allowing players to experiment with different combinations and strategies in combat.
Another new feature is weapons with advanced customisable modifications that can be tailored to suit your needs, further expanding their usefulness in dynamic combat situations. These modifications give players more freedom to choose their combat style, from precise shots to chaotic explosions, and represent an evolution of the series’ classic weapon system.
Exploration will also be expanded, allowing players to have a greater impact on their surroundings. The character movement system has been improved to include dodges, parkour and the ability to use environmental elements against enemies.
Thanks to numerous events and side missions, the planet Kairos will be teeming with life. Previous instalments guaranteed players dozens of hours of gameplay, and now there will be even more content.
