The plot of the game

Dragon’s Dogma II takes us on a journey into a fantastic universe. During gameplay, we play as a character known as Arisen, whose heart has been taken by a dragon – a symbol of the world’s destruction. From now on, her goal is to defeat the winged beast, but before she can do so, she will have to face a number of other challenges. On this dangerous path, the hero (or heroine) is not alone, as he or she will be accompanied by the so-called Pawns – mysterious beings from another world who will help him or her in every situation.

Game mechanics

In Dragon’s Dogma II we see the action from a third-person perspective (TPP). The production puts at our disposal a vast open world inspired by medieval Europe, where we can find both picturesque open spaces and towns or settlements, as well as mighty fortresses. As we move through the world, we carry out a variety of tasks, including missions that advance the plot, as well as various quests and side activities. As you progress, you will gain better equipment and develop your character, allowing you to face more challenges over time.

Along the way we will often encounter enemies with whom we will have very dynamic and spectacular encounters. On the battlefield, we have to be constantly on the move, dodging enemy attacks, making quick counterattacks, and using our character’s combat skills. It is up to us to decide whether to fight with a sword, bow, or use magic to send our enemies to the sand. Along the way, you will encounter both common enemies that are easy to defeat, and much more powerful foes, such as griffins and giants, that you can defeat by climbing on their bodies and attacking their weak points.

You are not alone on the battlefield

We are not alone on the battlefield, as up to three companions can join us on our adventures. These spawns have unique abilities and are controlled by advanced AI that learns a variety of behaviours over the course of successive battles. Interestingly, the game allows us to hire companions from other players (to gain more experience) and recruit characters trained by other community members.

Game Modes

Technical issues

Dragon’s Dogma II boasts high quality graphics. The game is based on RE Engine technology, which has already been used to great effect in projects such as Resident Evil VII: Biohazard and Resident Evil: Village. The detailed world and the richly animated characters and enemies are very appealing.
