Old School Rally is an arcade rally game spearheaded by a lone developer from Greece who uses the pseudonym Sakis 25 on social media and publishes games on Steam under the name Frozen Lake Games. Gameplay of the game Old School Rally

Old School Rally is inspired by titles from the end of the 20th century, especially the game Colin McRae Rally 2.0 – a cult work of the Codemasters studio from 2000. This is especially true for the driving model. The tracks are usually wide, and the cars eagerly negotiate the corners with long – but manageable – slides (especially on loose pavement).

There are a number of iconic cars known from rallying. They are not licensed, but it is easy to recognize among them models from the 1960s (e.g. Mini Cooper, Lancia Fulvia), 1980s (Peugeot 205, Audi quattro) or 1990s (Lancia Delta, Subaru Impreza, Peugeot 206). The variety also extends to the available tracks, with different surfaces (asphalt, gravel, snow, etc.) in locations inspired by the countries that hosted the World Rally Championship.

Technique

The three-dimensional visuals of Old School Rally are reminiscent of the era of the first PlayStation console. At the same time, you can see inspiration from the Colin McRae Rally 2.0 game in aspects such as camera work and interface design.
