Sand Land is an action-RPG based on the manga of the same name by Akira Toriyama, the creator of the Dragon Ball series. The game was developed by the Japanese studio ILCA. However, it was published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. Sand Land download for free.

The plot of the game

Sand Land takes the player to a post-apocalyptic desert world whose inhabitants – humans and demons – are suffering from a massive water shortage. The game’s protagonist is the evil prince Beelzebub. Together with Sheriff Rao and a demon called Rabuś, he sets out in search of the legendary spring, which is said to be hidden somewhere in the boundless desert.

Game mechanics

An important element of Sand Land is finding different parts in the sand, which can be used to build tanks and other vehicles. Some of these can be used in battle, while others can only be used for movement.

The player also has a base, which with each upgrade looks more and more like a bustling city. There are a number of quirky NPCs – many of which are very characteristic of Toriyama’s work – that Beelzebub and his companions will encounter during their adventures.

Technical issues

The game is powered by Unreal Engine 5, but its visuals are inspired by the “lines” of Japanese Mangaka. Sand Land only offers a story campaign, as it is a single-player experience. Sand Land download for free for PC.

Trivia

The Sand Land manga, on which ILCA Studio’s game is based, was published from May to August 2000. The series was not as popular as Akira Toriyama’s other works, Dragon Ball and Dr. Slump. Twenty-three years later, however, it is still remembered – not only for the game, but also for the first full-length film.
