The plot of the game

Sons of Valhalla takes us back to the Viking Age. The main character of the game is Thorald Olavson – the son of an Earl who lives a happy and peaceful life. One day his village is attacked by Jarl Valgard and his followers. The invaders raze the settlement to the ground, kill the protagonist’s father, and kidnap Raija, the woman of his heart, and take her deep into England. Without thinking twice, Thorald sets off in pursuit. The protagonist not only wants to take revenge, but also to save his beloved, who seems to be very important to the English king.

Game mechanics

In Sons of Valhalla, we watch the action from the sidelines. During gameplay, we take direct control of the protagonist and deal with both the expansion of his settlement and the organisation of destructive expeditions and the shedding of enemy blood. Our own village provides us with a constant supply of resources and warriors, so we must not only develop it significantly, but also fortify it so that it can be defended.

Once our ‘rear’ is secured, we can board Langskips and embark on expeditions to plunder and conquer enemy settlements and fortresses. Dynamic battles take place in real time, and success depends not only on deploying as many troops as possible, supported by siege engines, but also on your own reflexes and dexterity. The protagonist takes an active part in the skirmishes, mainly using the sword.
